This paper examines aspects of the analysis of the training system, criteria for the level of knowledge and educational materials in English in medical universities of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The study is aimed at identifying the features and effectiveness of existing methods of teaching English, taking into account the specifics of medical education. Various approaches to assessing the level of students' knowledge and educational materials used in the educational process are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to teaching methods that contribute to the formation of communicative competence necessary for future medical specialists. As a result of the study, recommendations were proposed for improving the English language teaching system in medical universities.
